Boca Grande Real Estate
Boca Grande Florida is a small town located on the barrier island of Gasparilla in Southwest Florida. Charlotte County is found on it’s North end, while Lee County is found on it’s Southern end.
Its name (Spanish for Big Mouth) comes from the well-known waterway Boca Grande Pass–also widely known as the “Tarpon Capital of the World,” found at the southern end of the island. Boca Grande Pass is a haven for anglers from all over the World and supports a network of fishing guides from Tampa to Fort Myers.
Boca Grande is home to many year-round residents, however, a good chunk of the homes belong to seasonal residents from the North. Golf carts are more common than cars for on-island travel which accounts for the miles of paths dedicated to the electric wagons. But the paths are used by all for running, cycling, walking and rollerblading. Nature is everywhere and anyone who travels along these paths are bound to see plentiful birds and other wildlife.
There are great restaurants, shopping, golfing, tennis, bars, spas, and clubs. However, there is not a chain grocery store or any other chain for that matter. Most residents travel to Placida/Cape Haze to visit the local Publix grocery store there. There are a few hotels and motels, but most tourists stay in private home rentals offered by the many part-time residents.
Properties range in price from $8,000,000s for some luxury waterfront estates, to $500,000s for condos. Boca Grande is a prestigious town with a high price tag, so the best values regionally will not be found here. However, it is a unique and beautiful place for those who choose to splurge on their address.
