Stump Pass State Park in Englewood Florida

One of my favorite places to go in Englewood is Stump Pass State Park. This particular group of photos comes from the Western edge of the park along the beach. Most days are extremely quiet, especially during the summer months, and crossing paths with others is a rare occasion. I prefer to go by boat and anchor up just feet from the sand, but others enjoy taking the hike from the public parking area to the North–probably a 15-20 minute walk along the beach.

There are plentiful shells, wildlife and marine life–the downed trees attract quite a community.  Grab your snorkel gear and wrap up a picnic lunch for an afternoon getaway that makes you feel like you’re a million miles away from everything.
